Syria: Disappeared for 2 Years after Arrest by Security Forces in Homs
On 2 March 2015, Alkarama sent a communication to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) concerning the cases of two Syrian citizens disappeared from Homs. Both were arrested by members of the Syrian security forces.
Syria: Further Cases of Enforced Disappearance in Latakia – Three Syrian Citizens Missing For Over Two Years

On 12 March 2015, a coalition of 21 humanitarian and human rights organisations, including Alkarama, said in a joint report that the parties to the Syrian conflict and United Nations Member States, in particular Members of the UN Security Council (UNSC), have been "Failing Syria". After assessing the impact of UNSC resolutions in protecting and assisting civilians in Syria, the coalition concluded that these resolutions have all been ignored or undermined, leading to the worst year of conflict so far.

Syria: Two Brothers from Homs Victims of Enforced Disappearance
On 27 February 2015, Alkarama and Human Rights Guardians sent a communication to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID), regarding the disappearance of two brothers from Homs between March 2012 and May 2013. The two brothers have been missing since their respective arrests by members of the Political Security Directorate – one of the country's four main intelligence agencies.
