On 29 April 2015, Alkarama and Human Rights Guardians sent a communication to the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) regarding the case of four men arrested by Syrian armed forces in the Hama Governorate between March and October 2012, who remain disappeared since.

On 23 April 2015, Alkarama sent a communication to the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) concerning the case of Nazir Idris and Sabah Kabakibo, a married couple from the district of Khaldiyeh in Homs and parents of four children, who disappeared after their arrest at a checkpoint of the Air Force Intelligence by the Mediterranean coast over two years ago.

(Geneva,28 April 2015) - To mark the 38th birthday (on April 29) of missing human rights defender and lawyer Razan Zaitouneh, head of the Violations Documentation Centre in Syria (VDC), winner of the 2011 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought and the 2011 Anna Politkovskaya Award of RAW in WAR (Reach All Women In War), the undersigned human rights organizations today reiterate theircall for her immediate release, as well as thatof her missing colleagues Samira Khalil, Nazem Hamadi and Wa'el Hamada.

On 31 March 2015 and 7 April 2015, Alkarama and Human Rights Guardians referred to the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic (CoI Syria) the cases of three Syrian citizens abducted between July and October 2013 by the al-Nusra Front and the Kurdish forces in the Al Hasakah Governorate. Since 2012, the Al Hasakah Governorate – situated in the far north-east corner of Syria between the Turkish and Iraqi border – has been the scene of a battle between, amongst others, Bachar al-Assad's Army, the Islamic State, the al-Nusra Front and the Kurdish forces.
