Ibrahim Moujahid was arrested on 8 March 2010 by security agents at the Kwaisna Institute of Art, while carrying posters in support of Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Security agents took them to their office where he was severely beaten all over his body.

Alkarama sent his case to the Special Rapporteur on Torture (SRT) and the working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) on 28 April 2010, requesting their intervention in order that the Egyptian authorities authoritize an impartial and independent investigation into allegations of torture, in order to find out who is responsible and prosecute them.

Ibrahim Moujahid was release from Damanhour prison on 12 June 2010. Alkarama maintains that his detention was arbitrary and that he should be compensated accordingly for the period during which he was deprived of his liberty.

Tarek Khidr, a student human rights activist, was arrested on 25 March 2010 at Alexandria University by State Security Investigative (SSI) services, who later took him to an unknown location. Alkarama submitted his case to the Working Group on Enforced Disappearances on 12 April 2010, requesting its urgent intervention with the Egyptian authorities. He was release on 12 June 2010 after being detained incommunicado for two months and seventeen days.

The Working Group's Universal Periodic Review (UPR) on Egypt was adopted by the Human Rights Council on 11 June 2010. During the review, a number of delegations recommended that "persons held under administrative detention, without any charge being brought against them must obtain a fair trial, otherwise he release immediately." The Egyptian authorities have consequently accepted this recommendation.
