Libya: Aljazeera photographer Ali Hassan Al-Jaber killed in ambush

News agencies have confirmed that forces loyal to Col. Gaddafi killed Ali Hassan Al-Jaber, an Aljazeera cameraman. His life was taken in an ambush yesterday in the Hawwari area southwest of Benghazi. Alkarama will bring his case before the International Criminal Court (ICC) in due course.

Alkarama has already provided the ICC with evidence documenting crimes against humanity committed by the Gaddafi regime during the past weeks.

Ali Hassan Al-Jaber's case will also be submitted to the United Nations human rights procedures, in particular the Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial Killing and the Special Rapporteur for Freedom of the Press, Expression, and Opinion.

Alkarama continues to observe and document the crimes still being committed by the Gaddafi regime, especially against civilians, which undoubtedly constitute crimes against humanity.
