On 6 November 2015, the Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) adopted a draft report containing the recommendations made by United Nations Member States to Lebanon during the State's review, which took place on 2 November 2015. During the review, States expressed their concern over Lebanon's human rights situation, especially regarding the pervasive practice of torture, the use of military tribunals for civilians, the death penalty and the delay in establishing an independent national human rights institution (NHRI), all issues previously raised by Alkarama in its report submitted to the Human Rights Council (HRC) in view of Lebanon's review on 23 March 2015.

On 3 November 2015, Alkarama attended the second cycle of Mauritania's Universal Periodic Review (UPR) held at the Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva. Mauritania's Minister of Justice, Brahim Ould Daddah, defended their second national report before the United Nations' Member States and discussed major human rights advancements undertaken by the authorities since 2010. The Minister also answered to numerous recommendations made by several States that focused on the abolition of the death penalty and the practice of torture in detention, as well as the persistence of slavery.

On 15 October 2015, Alkarama attended a pre-session briefing organised by the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations, in view of the Mauritania's Universal Periodic Review (UPR), which will take place between 2 and 13 November 2015. Alkarama expressed its main concerns and recommendations, focusing on the practice of torture and the poor detention conditions, the authorities' failure to obtain transitional justice as well as their persecution of human rights defenders.

On 25 September 2015, the Human Rights Council (HRC) adopted the outcome report of Libya's second Universal Periodic Review (UPR) held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva in May. The review revealed that the Libyan authorities still had a long way to go to improve the general human rights situation. One of the key issues raised was the protection of civilians, especially human rights defenders, journalists, judges and prosecutors. In view of the deteriorating human rights situation in the country, the Libyan authorities' lack of will to address the major issues in the country is deeply concerning.

On 21 September 2015, Alkarama transmitted its submission to the Stakeholder's Summary in view of the Sudan's second Universal Periodic Review (UPR) by the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) which is expected to be held during its 25th Session in April-May 2016. In its submission, Alkarama stressed that despite the adoption of a National Action Plan for the protection of human rights for the period 2013-2023, the situation since Sudan's first UPR review in 2011 had not changed and that torture, unfair and military trials and violations of the rights to freedom of expression and of association were still prevailing in the country.
