On 16 March 2015, Alkarama and Human Rights Guardians sent a communication to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced Disappearances (WGEID) concerning the cases of Mohamed and Walid Ramadan and Abdul Rahman Al-Rifai, who disappeared since their respective arrests at a checkpoint in Homs by members of the Air Force Intelligence and the Military Security in November 2012.

On 1 April 2015, Alkarama and Human Rights Guardians sent a communication to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced Disappearances (WGEID) concerning the cases of Samir Obaid and Ammar Faraj, two Syrian nationals disappeared since their respective arrest by members of the Syrian intelligence services in the coastal city of Jableh, in the Latakia Governorate.

On 12 March 2015, a coalition of 21 humanitarian and human rights organisations, including Alkarama, said in a joint report that the parties to the Syrian conflict and United Nations Member States, in particular Members of the UN Security Council (UNSC), have been "Failing Syria". After assessing the impact of UNSC resolutions in protecting and assisting civilians in Syria, the coalition concluded that these resolutions have all been ignored or undermined, leading to the worst year of conflict so far.

The two brothers have been missing since their respective arrests by members of the Political Security Directorate – one of the country's four main intelligence agencies.

On 27 February 2015, Alkarama and Human Rights Guardians sent a communication to the United Nation Working Group on Enforced Disappearances (WGEID) concerning the case of two Syrian political activists victims of enforced disappearance. Both disappeared since their respective arrests in the Hama governorate by members of Syrian Security Forces, between October 2011 and April 2012. These are further cases documenting the systematic use of enforced disappearance to silence and punish all the peaceful opponents to the regime.

Alkarama, in collaboration with Human Rights Guardians, referred eight cases of enforced disappearance to the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances – Mssrs Khaled Awda, Abdul Rahman Al Hamraoui, Mohammed Noor Zada, Deibo Al Khalif, Jamil Al Najjar, Mohamed Rami Ramla, Mr Sabaie Sharkeyia and his brother Mr Alaa Sharkeyia. They all disappeared after being arrested by the State forces in Homs, Aleppo and Damascus, between September 2012 and July 2013.
